Riverbank Farm Retreats

Riverbank Farm, a quiet sanctuary along the Dan
River, is 50 miles north of Winston Salem and only a 20 minute drive from Pilot Mountain.  This 84 acre haven features privacy, the river, meadows, walking trails, forests, seating along the riverbank, and the comfort of my home.  Picnics along the river or playing in the river are likely choices

on warmer days.

Being at Riverbank Farm was nourishment for my soul....the river, the woods, the being away from it all, the silence; the beauty...brought wonder, joy and peace.

Seeing young girls who live such troubled lives playing in the river, catching fish with their hands and putting them in paper cups and frolicking in the hammock made me happy....to see them playing and having fun and escaping from the everyday drudgery.  Being at Riverbank Farm I felt very alive!  Susan Maxey -Stokes County RSVP/Volunteer Center

"Riverbank Farm provided the perfect atmosphere for my group's silent retreat:  sweet birdsong and the sound of moving water to soothe my soul; a hearty lunch to satisfy my body; a clear blue sky above the green of meadows and woods spread at my feet like the Garden of Eden.  There is no purer place on this earth, I feel quite sure." Leigh Mcmillan –Winston Salem, NC

I attended Riverbank Farm on a personal quest to quiet everything around because I felt overwhelmed with daily demands and life’s unexpected turns.  I needed to reconnect with my inner self. Sue provided me with everything I needed and when I was ready she left me at my spot by the river.  A lot of work began that day.  Knowing I was in a supportive, nurturing, and safe environment helped me to explore and feel what I needed to begin the healing. Sue is a strong, gentle, and nurturing person.   She has many gifts There is healing in those waters and the land.  It will touch every sense and you will leave feeling renewed.  I hope you will be lucky enough to experience time by the river.  Donna Wishon, King, NC

The Riverbank Farm was the ideal location to receive professional development training in a tranquil retreat setting. Imagine our surprise when a picnic lunch was served on the beautiful banks of the Dan River. We all kicked off our shoes and enjoyed the whole experience while gaining a better understanding of ourselves and each other as a collaborative team.  Cindy S. Tuttle   Executive Director Stokes Partnership for Children
